I’d rather be recognized for my talents and capabilities than my physical appearance.

For some reason, it’s far more gratifying to hear someone look through my sketchbook and say “Wow,” than take a compliment for a picture I posted online. It’s far more inspiring to know that I blow people away with my writing, poetry or spoken word than the amount of reblogs or likes I’ve acquired on a particular picture.

Being told that you are pretty is always sweet and well appreciated but I’d much rather get feedback based on my artistic capabilities and work, to be completely honest.

I know that I’m not the most beautiful rosebud in the bunch but I’m perfectly fine with that. I have much more pride in my work than I do in my physical appearance.
